There's a certain round and fluffy tradition that may or may not end up over someone's head. Bulgarian weddings take bread very seriously — and this one comes with a dramatic moment, a few flying crumbs, and one big question: who's the boss in this marriage?

Want to join the dancing circle but unsure how to horo? Don't worry — enthusiasm counts more than rhythm. Here's a quick video to get you moving!
TIPS
A few Bulgarian words go a long way
Even a simple “blagodarya” (thank you) or “zdravey” (hello) will earn you big smiles.
Cash is king
Cards are accepted in many places, but smaller shops and taxis often prefer cash. It's a good idea to have some Bulgarian leva (лв) on hand.
Get the 'Yellow!' taxi app
For easy travel around Sofia, we personally use the Yellow! taxi app. We recommend using this app, however, keep in mind that the taxi drivers don't always speak or understand English.
